LE 500 Alarm Problem

Some undesirable person (remaining polite!) knifed my roof prior to our holidays so I put the car in the garage to protect it whilst away.

I went to start it the other day and it just started making ticking noises and the door locks were clicking so I thought the battery had gone flat.

I went to give it another go this evening and battery is definitely flat but the car is constantly making a sound from the alarm unit.

When I connect a charged battery to the car the alarm goes off and pressing the key fob won't turn it off.

Tried disconnecting the battery but apparently the alarm has a back up battery and the sound remains.

Also changed the battery in the fob.

Pulled all the relevant fuses and it still goes on and on....

Anybody got any ideas please?:)
