New 2-speed cooling fan spinning the wrong way (2003 diesel)

I've just had my failed 3 speed cooling fan replaced with a new 2 speed unit (resistor type), part number PGJ000110.



It appears to be working normally, except it blows air out the grille rather than sucking in.



No wiring modifications were necessary to fit the new unit, the 2 multi plugs fitted straight in. Is there any way to sort this or have I got a duff fan kit?
