Painting parking sensors - Is it ok?

Well, I bought a new sensor which is grey, I bought some paint for my car's color (NOT SPRAY by the way).



1. Is it ok if I'll take the brush and paint the parking sensor instead of using the spray? I didn't buy any spray because they are expensive here ... very expensive.



2. If yes, after I'll paint the sensor, I gotta wait until the paint gets dry and then varnish the sensor? (I hope "varnish" is the right term, that transparent thing which polishes the sensor).
