Timing belt query

As my timing belt service is about due on the TF and will be going to the local specialist for the job - is it worth having any preventative work done to the cooling system whilst they have it on a lift and have it apart for a day?



I'm not sure if the headgasket has ever been replaced - car is only on 44k miles. Or if it ain't broke, don't fix it? One half of me is thinking is it worth having the head off and the gasket changed for the better ones, other half is saying leave it well alone? What do you forumers think?
