What make CV Joint to use?

Hi



The outer offside CV joint has been noisy at full lock on our ZT CDTI for the last 40K miles but has recently got much noisier after doing some towing, so it finally needs to be replaced.



There are a few different brands of CV on the internet and some of them are surprisingly cheap. Presumably they're made of monkey metal and should be avoided.



Does anyone know the best CV joint to fit (within a reasonable cost) that won't play up after towing?



Also, I'd need to get a joint splitter tool. Are the wedge shaped knock-in ones OK for the job?
