113 bhp diesel

hi all. I have a 2004 zr diesel and have a few questions. it has good low down power pulls very well low in rev range, but seems to go flat around 2800/3000 rpm if you ease off the throttle seems to pick up slightly. no faults present boost is about 210 initially peaks around 218/220 kpa ithink.

when I fitted sdi injectors it was not as impressive as when fitted to my old 99 bhp diesel. around the 2.8/3.0 rev range it would chuck out grey smoke and felt awfull so I removed them and now its standard.

I have read that the 113 engine map is not brilliant so would a remap iron out this flat part of the rev range.

when I have the acr4 plugged in reading live when cold at idle the timing reading is plus 2.2 when hot it reads minus 563 point something is this normal. when actually driving the car the advance timing goes up and down as I would expect. the fuel quantity goes up and down as I think it should but on the setting id fuel quantity on tickover it is fairly consistent eg the same near enough as used, but as soon as the throttle is touched id quantity goes to zero and stays there so I am wondering is there a glitch between fuel needed and fuel being used.

generally the car runs ok and if not having had one before I would accept it but my old zr was much better to drive and when the sdis were fitted it was smokey black but very good performance wise. so any pointers please. oh and sorry for long post.
