ABS Bracket

Whilst fitting the powdercoated horn brackets I recently purchased I realised that the ABS bracket was merrily rusting away as well (not good on a 4yr old car) so I removed the bracket & think one of the following choices is needed?



1. Buy a new bracket £12ish posted but may rust quickly like the original?

2. Clean up & hammerite the original one?

3. Have the original powdercoated anyone done this as I think this may be the longest lasting solution?



Whilst removing the bracket my 10mm socket disappeared down under the mounting plate any ideas where it may be hiding?
