Coolant Expansion Problem

Hi all,

My apologies for harping on about an issue thats been covered a million times over already but i just need to confirm some of my suspicions.

I have been losing water for a while now and it seems to be quite a bit more these recent weeks, i spotted a drip under the intake manifold so i got the seal replaced today and that seems to be all good.

However my issue is my coolant rises above the level line by approx 2" which i think is way too much and last night when i got home i saw it coming out the expansion tanks cap which i assume will account for my rapid coolant loss.

Now i know that bleeding is paramount but im sure i bled correctly as per the data on these forums, the bleed nip under the dizzy was removed and slowly filled header until a good stream of water came from the bleed point and i replaced the screw. I then filled slowly untill i reached the level line (my heater set to full heat during the entire process).

Im quite sure there no more air in the system as iv done this procedure many times before and if i squeeze the top and bottom hoses i hear the jiggle valve doing its thing, i can also heere it if i squeeze the heater matrix hoses too and i can also here water moving throughout the system when i squeeze.

I suppose i may still have air in the system but iv done all i can with reagrds to filling correctly..

Iv ordered a new pressure cap as i think this may cause the water level to rise if its not holding back the pressure (15psi i believe??? could be wrong).

If this doesnt fix the issue what else could cause the water level to rise so much? maybe boiling in the head? or a blockage?

the other thing is i dont get any heat from the heater but as i say i can here the jiggle valve if i squeeze the matrix hoses to i though this should be fine, could there be a blockage here or simply a stubborn air lock.

My fear is that the HG has failed an exhaust gasses are forcing the water level up..?

many thanks in advance.

regards, matt.
