MOT - Good news - bad news - good news
Well, our little Trophy 160 once again sailed through the MOT with no advisories - good news!
Bad news, head gasket once again showing signs of failure - coolant leaking from it. As it's already been skimmed twice already, I am assuming the head maybe dead when it comes to changing the HG.
Good news - I have a brand new, still boxed complete VVC 160 head! Not only that, but also have a new inlet manifold with all the gubbins, injectors, fuel rail etc, with all new sensors - plus new Omega pistons and forged con rods for the bottom end!
I can finally add all this lovely stuff! I will have the head ported and polished this time. I will talk to Dave Andrews and book it in for sometime early next year, am thinking it'll cost around the £1-1.5k mark - but then again, having the HG fixed before cost a grand.
It's only leaking a little bit at the moment, so not too worried.
Every cloud......
