Rattle / loose, gear stick

I've seen a few of the fixes and bought a new bracket for the gearbox end of the linkage. After checking it out, the rattle is coming from under/the gear stick itself. What usually wears there and how can it be fixed? Any links to what to buy will be a great help, thanks.
