ZR TDI+ injector pump belt snapped

Hi,



Been a bad night tonight. On the way home and heard a bang from the engine and lost all power, car stalls.



Looked under the bonnet and the injector pump belt has snapped, ripping the plastic casing around it.



Belts are only around 2yrs - 30,000 easy motorway miles.



Any ideas what could have caused it, car has done 127K miles, could the pump have just worn and seized causing the snap?



Are these easy/cheap to replace?



Considering selling it as it is as I have a company car anyway so it's not like a necessity as such
