11yrs of sheer pleasure.......ZS180
I purchased my ZS180 2004 with 4k on the clock. 11yrs and 115k miles later I am reluctantly selling. (MOT 05/03/2015 - 119K Miles).
2003 was the year to replace my Megane rxe 2.0 8v. And after test driving Focus ST170 and Astra SRI 2.2 I unexpectantly found my self in a Rover/MG showroom there they were ZR/ZS/ZT. Decided to take the ZS180 for test drive (5door). Yes the interior were basic and compared to the ST/SRI they looked poor but soon has I took it on the road I was sold instantly. The engine was smooth but it was the handling that was the key.......MY budget couldn't stretch to brand new and I wanted the saloon....Then 3 weeks later dealer found me an ZS180 XPOWER GREY SALOON (4K) For £10995 and it was mine.
11yrs on due to illness Im having to let her go. up until 6months ago there has been no expence spared (cam belts done 2011) - (full clutch 2013) and vast amount of history this 180 has been totally pampered.
Only things I can pick up on are
1. Drivers side outer c/v joint/boot split
2. both front door handles need fixing
3. 2x tyres to rear
4. side light bulb
I know to most of you on this forum these are simple fixes (included is Haynes manual).
These I intended to do but due to my illness I havnt been able to get these bits done.
These cars were so underated but early test drives by top gear magazine raved about how good they were but were let down by the old shape.
My highlights over the 11yrs were when the spring/summer months came round and even though these new ultra modern Hot Hatches/Sports Saloons on paper could leave the 180 standing but what speed the 180 had on the straight it could carry into the corners it always gave me a big Grin when thes 20k/30k cars were fighting to keep up.
So reluctantly is the end of the 180 road for me. If there is anyone who wants a totally honest not abused/thrashed raced just enjoyed. (I even don't go over 2500rpm until engine hot). Polished at least 3 times a week in summer (neigbours think im nuts especially when I do under bonnet).
To me its worth thousands but I am ready for any offers. I know it will hurt but do your best.........or has anyone sold recently and what can I expect.
thanks for your time and sharing my thoughts on a car with all its niggles at least it was alive .............

P.S Included also Haynes Manual/Jack Stowage Kit and all 12 of the TOTAL MG MAGAZINE that stopped when MG ended its life.....
