cam belt

Hi folks,

Just come to put my new cam belt on and could not get the tensioner to take the slack up.So thought funny, took it off again and offered the old one up fitted perfect.Strange I thought so counted the teeth on each belt the original had 143 teeth and the new one has 145 teeth.any one come across this before??



car is a 1997 VVC.

now awaiting another new cam belt.
