cdti hp pump repair-cuts out under load-poss. ecu fault.
Hi
Have just replaced the seals in my hp injector pump.
Job went ok. Car started up fine. Idled nice. Ran smoothly for a short distance trip then cut out when I floored the accelerator to test it.
Restarted ok. Drove back - cut out uphill - restarted.
The engine fault light came on.
I checked for faults with my Elm/Torque diagnostic - no faults stored.
I reset the fault anyway. The engine light went out.
Now it doesn't want to start at all. I can crank the engine.
After cranking I'm getting a wooshing/ squirting noise from the hp pump.
I believe I did the job properly and was careful to blank off pipe ends etc.
It reads like 'fuel starvation from lp pump' type threads. But surely too much of a coincidence for a lp pump to fail right now.
Am pig sick now.
Had disconnected battery for an 'ecu reset' just in case
Will try to crack an injector pipe to see if fuel is going through.
Has anyone got any suggestions please?
Thanks
Alan
Edit: LP pumps seem to run fine as does HP - wondering if it's ECU?!
