clamp on flexi any good?

I fitted new exhaust the other day and had to drop the cat down quite a bit to get a grinder to the top bolt. Noticed that the flexi is leaking a bit but it seems ok for now. I noticed a fair bit more turbo whistle with the decat,is that normal or have i made the flexi pipe leak worse? I was thinking of cutting it and clamping a new one in. Are they any good or should i get a new flexi welded in? It seems quicker with the decat fitted so im pleased with the result.
