Couriers ......... why do they lie!
We brought a 1.6 K series engine for the Rover 45 from a breakers and they put it on a pallet for delivery. The mechanic was not in when they delivered it a day late, they claim they had a slight vehicle problem ................. yeah OK this can and does happen, but it seems this was a lie. The real problem was that the numpties had dropped the engine:-
hard enough to shear off the mounting bracket
and smash the exhaust cam belt pulley.
The cam belt cover is scrap both inner and outer that alloy bracket is of course scrap. The question is are the cams any good and are the bearings damaged.
It also seems that we were not supposed to notice this and complain. The mechanic has quoted two hours labour to strip inspect for damage and if none found replace the broken parts with unbroken ones from our original engine.
It's been 8 days now and they are still claiming it's not their fault it seems and don't want to stump up for the damage they caused.
