Expansion tank

Hiya just come back from a drive and have noticed my expansion tank cap has started to make a hissing sound . I have no water loss and the water doesn't go very high in the tank is this just a case of the cap has failed and is this common. Also can I leave it for couple days or need replacing asap thanks..
