Head Scratching Electrical Problem

Hi



Having replaced clutches and timing belts (without tools) on these cars I feel I am pretty unafraid where home mechanics are concerned and also now know these cars pretty well...however...



The tailgate wiper has a mind of its own!



It sometimes works well but more often it turns on when I turn the switch off...if you see what I mean. The only constant is that it operates when I throw the switch fully ''up'' so it squirts as well. In this case the wiper arm always swings around. Th intermittent wipe really doesnt work well at all.



There obviously is power to the motor otherwise surely it wouldnt work at all.



Am I possibly looking at a moisture issue? The plenums are bone dry too.
