New Car Written Off and Replacement on the way !!
Ok so the last few months haven't been too good for me as I lost my job in late July and since then everything has gone down hill. I purchased a new MG ZR 2.0TD which was a 54 Plate with 62K on the clock with one female owner.
This was my first ZR as my two previous cars have been a Rover 200 1.4 and a Rover 25 2.0TD and I loved it the whole look of it actually. It was a MK2 in British Racing Green and it may have possibly been from an ex-member of this site from Wales I believe based on V5 and Registration plate. (Check out the picture below)
Not bothered about number plate on show as I believe car has been scrapped as it is in this very picture where a courier driver in a rush reversed without looking at full speed and hit the front nearside bumper and completely screwed the wing, dented the bonnet and most importantly all the main frame was twisted and therefore a write off.
Only had the car 4 weeks and ended up buying it back of insurance for £140 and selling to Rovaparts just round corner from me for £450.
On the positive side I'm now back in work and its close by so I walk there in 15 minutes so I decided to get a replacement car but just a petrol. I've only had a 1.4 Rover before and now I've brought myself a '54 plate ZR + 160 which I'm picking up this weekend and I'll upload some pictures.
The car in the pictures above is British Racing Green and the new one is Metallic British Racing Green but in the photo of my new car I can't tell if colour is slightly different. Anyone have some pictures to show the difference at all if there is any?
Aside form that I'm looking to tune the 1.8 VVC slightly and replace the brake discs for a better set so any advice on tuning this engine would be grateful as owning a diesel for the past few years it was all about SDI injectors and fixing those damn MAF sensors :)
Sorry for such a long post.
