I think the zr is dead...
Hi all,
Yesterday was the morning from hell (before the car died). I need opinions on what the problem is, although I am pretty sure the diagnosis is not good.
Went to start the car (MG ZR 105 53 plate) and all i had was a sudden judder and a loud clonk. No turning over at all. Battery fine. Look under the bonnet and I have lost a considerable amount of coolant. Oil all OK. No mayo, no overheating ever.
Eventually I get the car started and immediately blow a lot of white smoke out the back. Open the oil filler cap while the engine is running and i get a face full of exhaust fumes, blowing literally like the exhaust. Again, no overheating after 10 minutes running on the drive.
I am thinking HGF, cracked head or liners?
I have had no symptoms before yesterday morning.
We are getting a new car regardless but i am reluctant to pay to get the mg looked at if the problem is as severe as I am guessing...
Opinions please?
Cheers,
Sam
