Break fault light zt cdti

Some history on this fault, I bought the car from a local sale with a abs fault. When starting the abs fault came on via the computer screne on the dash but no light under it, I stripped the dials out and found the previous owner had pulled the led off the board. I still havent got round to repairing this fault however the brakes work fine and the yellow abs warning now no lonver appears on computer since I replace a sensor. I have however now had a problem with a red brake fault light coming on, when it first did it the handbrake light stayed on for a few mins every now and then. After a few weeks it stayed one permanently for several months with a fault code pointing to a fault with abs unit. I have checked the plugs on the unit and found nothing however since the weather has got wetter the light has gone out again and sometimes comes on randomly normally about 20-30 feet up the road sometimes from the turn of the key, sometimes turning engine of and on clears fault any ideas?
