Scrappage costs and what to keep
I Currently have 2 MGF's, a X Reg VVC MY2000 and a R Reg 1.8mpi.
My Red mpi need significant bodywork renovation, likely a respray. After Seeing a lump of lacquer peel off will washing the bonnet earlier ive come to the conclusion that I will strip her and dispose of the shell. Ill then pick up a cheap mark 1 with mechanical issues to work on. (the silver VVC had a recent respray by the previous owner and is my daily driver. I still want something to tinker with).
Now ive never scrapped a car before. certainly never a stripped shell. Does it cost money? I already plan to drop the subframes inc engine and exhausts and thieve the lights and hydrogas units which are fine. Anything else I should consider?
Any hints and tips gratefully received. i'm very competent mechanically just lack patience with body work!
