Water injection
I've been thinking of power / ecomomy boosts for the K series 1.8 motor. There are a great many things one can do to improve things. So far on my 1.8 I've: cleaned out the inlet manifold [ plastic flash...] and the exhaust manifold [ weld splatter...], port matched the exhaust manifold, unshrouded the valves and removed the valve seat lip in each valve throat and eased the exhaust port runners [ lowered the hump by about 1mm], opened up the head's coolant apertures, added a CAF, installed a K&N Apollo air filter and de cat'ed it.
I want low down torque so I've left the cams as standard. But I will investigate carefully checking / setting up the cam timing.
Question has anyone fitted a water [water/methanol] injection kit to an regular K series 1.8 engine?
What parts or kit did you use?
What have your results been like re extra power / extra fuel economy?
