Bit of a random car insurance question

Hi, what it is is my zr i'm sure is gonna fail its mot pritty decently and was wondering, when the car dues run out of mot will I be fine just to keep my insurance running and parked up on the drive or will the insurance company decide to cancel it?

I'll be freezing my ... off throughout this Month sorting the problems that are on the way to me but only have till Feburary to collect another Years no claims.

Seems shady to lose out on 10 Months paid.
