Replacing the fuel pump.

Hi fellow ZTers. It looks like the fuel pump has died in my ZT-T. Has anyone any experience of putting a new one in? Is it a straightforward job, or should I pay to get a garage to do it. Before anyone asks, the fabled orange clip is still in place on the filter unit and it's Mr RAC who reckons it's down to the pump.
