Carbon bonnet.

Just been contacted about a carbon fibre bonnet I am having made.

The guy wants to know whether to gel coat like the last one that was made or send it to a spray shop to be lacquered.

The gel coat one had pin holes and bubbles and he reckons that the lacquering would be better.

Problem is it is an extra £165, which would bring the bonnet in around £500.

I was just going to get the bonnet sprayed body colour, but I think I might go the lacquer route and see what I think of the cool boys CF bonnet look on DeepBlue.

I can always get it sprayed later if I don't like it, but once sprayed blue I can't go back to CF look.

This is the last CF bonnet that was made

You can see the bubbles in this pic.

Not a problem if painted.

To be honest, I'm not a great fan of the CF bonnet look, but I normally see it on Corsas etc and the car is usually a white or red colour, so is a huge contrast.

Obviously DeepBlue is a dark blue colour so won't be so in your face, but I don't want it to look like I have fitted a bonnet that is a bad colour match or is waiting to be painted.

I will probably give it a go, but what are the opinions of everyone else?
