rover 75 door handle

hi to all

today i went to open the passengers door and it would not open it had frozen solid

my friend and i eventually got the door panel off and found that the rod that goes to the door handel had broken off,what i want to know is how do you get the door handel off,we cant see how it is fixed to the door

the rave workshop is of no help
