Which is better Manifold 6 stud or 4 stud

Recall reading where a later 6 stud manifold was cleaned up and fitted to the realier MGF but cannot recall all the detaisl as to why it's better and could not locate the thread now :minxy:.



As the intention is to get a new manifold in 2015 and a better exhaust to improve her performance am wondering if fitting the 6 stud manifold would be beneficial?



Sadly although ideally a proper performance 4/2/1 manifold would be best at over £400 this is beyond the budget's reach. A Toyo Sports 6 stud one can be had for less than half the price. Yes a compromise but needs must!



Already have a S/S 90 Degree elbow in case one is needed so that's not a problem and as a new rear box is planned the correct one should be obtainable anyway.



Any information on this is appreciated.



Have started a need and wants list in the back of the new 2015 diary. let's hope the costs don't give me a heart attack.
