45/ZS Owners - Fuel Starvation Issue

Just thought I'd make a thread on here, as posts get quickly lost on Facebook.

I had the same issue with both my Mk1 and Mk2 ZS diesels - an apparent blockage in the fuel feed before the priming bulb, causing it to get sucked flat.

On my first ZS (the Mk1) I dropped the tank, cleaned it out and the issue went away completely - happy days.

I didn't have time to do this on the Mk2 recently (you lot and your cambelt kits! :D ) so instead put 150psi down the fuel line from the engine bay to the tank (fuel filler cap off!) in an attempt to clear out the blockage.

It's been fine for over 2 weeks now, so seems to have worked. Worth a try if you have loss of power when accelerating, which sorts itself out when you ease off the throttle.

It was a small piece of plastic in the Mk1, so I assume the same this time - the blast of air will have forced it out of the swirl pot, and hopefully to the bottom of the tank for good. :)
