Another MOT Pass

My TF passed its MOT today with no advisories after a bad fail late last year.

It failed on the following:

Offside Front Headlamp aim too high (1.8)

Nearside Front Headlamp aim too high (1.8)

Exhaust emissions Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits (7.3.D.3)

Nearside Front to rear Brake pipe excessively corroded (3.6.B.2c)

Offside Front Anti-roll bar linkage fractured (2.4.G.1)

Offside Front Brake pipe excessively corroded (3.6.B.2c)

Nearside Front sub frame mount Vehicle structure has excessive corrosion which adversely affects braking or steering (6.1.A.1) **DANGEROUS**

Offside Front sub frame mount Vehicle structure has excessive corrosion, seriously affecting its strength within 30cm of the body mountings (6.1.B.2) **DANGEROUS**

Advisory Notice issued

Offside Front to rear Brake pipe slightly corroded (3.6.B.2c)

First thing to get done was the front subframe mounts!

So I got some new mounts!

And painted them!

And got them fitted!

Next was the drop link, which decided to snap completely!

So I removed it!

And fitted a new one!

Then I changed the other side to match! And worked out how to remove the top bolt!

I decided to change the rears aswell, as the bush's looked a bit perished! Doing this has got rid of the harsh ride often found on TF's!

The nearside was easy, but the offside bottom bolt rounded off so I had to cut it off!

I also swapped my Janspeed sports cat for a regular cat!

Found a small leak on the flange, I new there was a small ringing when reversing!

Slight problem with the pattern cat is that the lambda is touching the heat shield!

I ran some Redex through it for good measure!

It also needed a new front lambda sensor as it was faulty, causing the high emissions!

I changed the headlight bulbs for some osram nightbreakers and adjusted them!

It then passed but I still have an issue with the nearside track control arm, I had the offside replaced but the nearside one needs doing aswell!

So that will be replaced next week!
