Courtesy light.

Strange question but as some of you may remember I was having problems with the courtesy light coming on when the doors open. I have changed the overhead light twice, changed all the door switches and still nothing then today I noticed that the illumination light around the cigar lighter isn’t working. Could this be on the same circuit as the courtesy light and as a result of it not working breaking the circuit preventing the courtesy light from coming on? I don’t want to strip out the centre console to change the blub only to find out it’s not the problem.
