Cylinder head rebuild, VVC timing question
Hello @all,
I am currently rebuilding my VVC engine. I followed the Rover K series engine rebuild manual and all hints from all over the web, but now i have a question:
Yesterday i tested the VVC mech after rebuild. I pressurized the HCU with air as it is stated in the rebuild manual (works fine). How is the HCU piston retracted under "normal" conditions while the engine is running??? Do i have to (don't know how) retract the HCU piston again before i put the head on the engine (using N series HG and uprated oil rail plus new bolts, of course). Btw i didn't have had a HGF, i dismantled the engine head due to sealing issues (car was not running for 6 years when bought and all camshaft seals etc. were leaking more than my MGB engine). Any help is highly appreciated.
