Is it HG failure?
Recently replaced the engine temp sensor & radiator on my ZR. Heaters were blowing cold completely, whereas before they were on cold then hot. I'd done over 1k in 3 weeks and no overheating troubles. I've done maybe 40 miles, and after bleeding again I got hot air like I used to. Temp gauge takes longer to rise, but I'm putting this down to the collapsed saab valve, for which I have a replacement hose.
Now, my coolant level has gone from just over top level to just above the lower marker. I've checked around engine and no sign of any leaks. There is coolant around the tank though.
Now the car is on point, doesn't sound any different, doesn't produce a lot of steam. I'd like to think it's just the expansion tank cap but does it sound like it could be worse? I've an inlet manifold gasket to fit this week and new thermostat with more coolant. When I was down there I tightened everything as much as I felt necessary, and will do the same. It'd be a shame if it is the HG as I had no problems before I touched it
