What brakes

Hi there,



this morning nearly had a bad accident due to a guy coming out from nowhere at speed.

To make a long story short I felt my brakes to be way too weak, and I was 30mph!



So, looking around it seem to going down to two main choices for my MGF:



280mm

240mm



Of course the problem is price.

It seems that 240mm grooved/drilled disks with uprated brakes pads can be found aroung 150£ for all corners.



280mm I'm about 250£ for just front.



It's a huge price difference, but I feel I need more braking power.

Are really 280mm worth more than 500£?
