ZS TD Thermostat Oring
Hi Gents,
I changed my thermostat on saturday and after a bit of head scratching (how to get top elbow bolt undone).
So i went to put it all back together and noticed there was no replacement oring (for the housing/elbow) with the new thermostat. The original one has swollen to buggery and wont go back in and does look a bit flat.
In the past week i've tried loads of places that i can think of (Motor Factors, Vospers, Rimmer Bros, MG Owners Club) for a replacement with no luck!
How bloody stupid that i cant buy something as silly as an oring. So now i have a car stuck car on the driveway. Ideally i'd like to buy the proper oring rather than make/scarf joint from a kit.
Does anyone know the ID & cross section, or could measure, an unused item so i can source one from BSL/Eriks?
The housing is almost 61.95mm OD and the lip on the cooler is ~56.4mm, but it appears the original oring is 4mm in diameter which doesn't add up?
Any thoughts welcome..... I'll make a list of stuff needed to make the job a bit easier after it goes back together.
