mg zt engine check light

hi all new to forum and laptops have had my mg zt stood since july last year have been starting it up once or twice a month but started it today and after 15 minutes or so engine warning light came on heater was running warm air and temp guage was fine only 20000 since i had recon top and bottom end and uprated head gasket redone car is 1.8 turbo on an 04 plate any ideas please really dont want to get rid of it but dont want to spend a fortune sorting it out
