Rover 200 B pillar/ check strap issue

Good Evening all,



I'm a long time lurker first time poster, I've got a 1997 214Si where the check straps for both the rear doors are no longer fixed in the B pillar correctly, it looks like the previous owner has tried to fix this with a self tapping screw, although I think the only thing this has done is crack the pillar. Has anyone come across this before? I've done some searching but with no luck. How is the check strap held to the B pillar?
