Car just died, turns over but wouldn't fire

This has happened a few times now, I drive a 75 2.5 petrol, The car just dies and will turn over really fast but won't fire.

Go back to my car the next day to move it and it starts first time.



As you can imagine its a pain but because it starts ok i leave it hoping it will be alright and it is for a few months then out of the blue it does it again.



I'm thinking maybe the fuel pump but why would it be so intermittent?

any advice would be great!!
