Penetrating Fluid

I have just been reading CJJ's How To for the TRE as I need to replace at least one for the MOT (I am also going to rebush both rear track control arms with the Poly Bushes available from Rimmers).

He makes a very good point about using a proper penetrating oil and not WD40. I have long known that WD40 is more advertising that substance. Good for a squeaky gate and not bad at getting sticky stuff off (though not as good as Goo-Gone).

Question is, What is the best Penetrating Oil? An American colleague swears by something called Kroil though it is very difficult to source in the UK and mega expensive. While looking I came across reference to a 50-50 mix of ATF and Acetone which people find effective but its probably going to be a faff on making it up and storing it.

So which of the mainstream products works best or are they all pretty much the same?

Anyone tried this stuff?

At the price it has to be a bargain and probably worth a try.

Thoughts?
