rover 216si engine switching off and on

Hello can you help, when the engine gets to running temp it starts extreme jerking

the spark cuts off and on the 2 bottom relays in the mems relay module under the bonnet are switching on and off about once a second this cuts the ignition on and off , i think the relays are for lamda sensor and fuel pump, if i disconnect water temp sender the engine runs o/k, flywheel sensor tests o/k with scope,

ecu connections and earths seem o/k. I have put a new temp sensor in but fault still there , as i say engine run's o/k with it disconnected or when the engine cool.
