Rover 45 1.6 wont start after IACV change
Hi All,
Having a bit of an issue - I think I have killed the rover.
Its the 1.6 16v Petrol. 2004.
Recently I have been having issues with the car violently dropping in and out of idle at low revs, and idling all over the place, sometimes sitting up as high as 3k rev's.
Having talked to a few people, I decided to replace the IACV and Throttle Position Sensors. I got some second hand ones from the scrappy ahnd put them on.
The car then wouldn't start. It cranked fine, but didn't fire up. Nuts. So I put the old parts back on - after all, its better to have the car running slightly temperamental than not at all.
Unfortunately, after replacing the original parts, still no luck.
I have checked every connection I can think of, checked all engine management fuses, and disconnected the battery for 10 mins and still no luck.
Anyone got any ideas what might have died? I can hear the fuel pump priming when the key goes to position 2, and I have tried resetting the throttle position.
Thanks!
