Rover 45 Connecting the steering wheel controls

Ive just purchased a Pioneer radio for my 2003 Rover 45. Halfords want to charge me £35 for a connector to couple up the steering wheel controls to the radio which is of course compatable. I have in the aperture a green multblock with a white and light brown wire going to it which I assume is the steering wheel controls along with one blue wire on the radio clearly marked remote control. How do I connect two into one? Any help and guidance appreciated.
