Strange question....

Bit of a strange question and i am probably wrong....but.....



I saw on ebay a while ago -wish i had saved the advert- i 'new' mini shell stamped 1998 (presumably a development vehicle). It was white/cream and had the Rover emblem embossed on the windows, headlights and various other remaining bits of trim and plastic.



Now .... my stupid question. Was the 'new mini' either designed, developed or created by rover at Longbridge??



The way the advert read -which i by no means take as gospel-, was that it was designed and developed by Rover and when BMW 'left' and pheonix took over, they took the designs and the mini brand with them.



Can anybody shed any light? I might be batting way off the right lines here. But you dont ask you dont get.......
