Well, having joined the forum it would be rude not to say 'Hi', so here goes. My name is Adam from Nottingham and I am new to the pleasures of owning an MG.

Four weeks ago I bought an 04 plate ZS+ in Starlight Silver, 78k miles, for a good price. Did my research, read the reviews, checked the car, bodywork, interior and engine and all tip-top condition. Really quite tidy.

After 1 weeks very enjoyable driving, it whimpered to a halt without warning. Yup. The Head Gasket went ;-) Lucky old me, eh?

Had I not sort of fell for the feel of the car and its history I'd probably have cut my losses and run. In the event, a big thanks to Mark at MG Rover Mechanics for breathing life back into it!!

As it is, I really, REALLY am loving the car and all its quirks: heater only working on 3 & 4, demister switch b*ggered, being cracked on the skull by a falling boot lid on anything not 100% level and discovering it has the the turning circle of a barge on roller skates.

So far; mended the heater and demister switch and fitted some blue LED footwell lights, replaced all the badges with new ones and stuck a DAB . Just need to slap on some new tyres and a set of new wheel caps..... ;-)

So.... here I am. The info, articles and knowledge here have been priceless.....thanks one and all!

I am now resigned to spending money on the car probably beyond its worth simply because I love it!
