Hi all, I have a zr td (2005) that is chugging out black smoke and lacking any power. Garage says it needs a new intercooler and two pipes that feed out of it and that I'll have to source the parts myself as he can't get them.

Now I will admit I am pretty useless under the hood. The intercooler I can find easily enough but when he says "two pipes that feed out of it" what does he mean? Looked online and there are small and long pipes/hoses (are they the same thing?) and I'm confused about what I need to buy.

Any advice appreciated. Need to sort this quite soon!

meantime am I ok to drive? There is no boost and it starts juddering about 2300 revs but i can keep it at 60mph and get to and from work (12 miles). Engine light has also just came on.
