Exhaust too loud

I have a confession

My Exhaust on my MG ZR 1.4 was very old and starting to fall apart (Back box and centre silencer) i thought i might as well buy a nice sporty exhaust as a treat for myself considering i need a new one anyhow....

My issue is, the exhaust i purchased i SOOOOO Loud (Resonating centre section and back box) to the point i am getting a head ache and it is vibrating the inside on my car.

I was going for a bit of a grunt sound but i wasn't expecting this. As i am driving down the road, for the first 15 mins it isn't too bad but after a while i feel like a massive ******. You know the way you look at someone in a 2002 1.0L golf with a big exhaust (Face palm)....

Is there anything is can do to reduce the noise? Even in the cabin? Insulation i can buy and stick under the car? Restrict the exhaust somehow?

I think my best bet is to place a new centre box and remove the resonating one
