Fitting a refurbished Witter "Stowbar" to my ZT-T 1.8t

Refurbished after removal from a 75 in a local scrap yard. My saloon MG ZT 1.8t came with the Witter Stowbar frame already fitted behind the bumper but without the detachable Stowbar and locking device itself. Careful searching ebay daily turned up the missing items at £15 collection from Birmingham. Picked up by combining the trip with dropping off eight ZT GRIDspoke alloy wheels for Powder Coating refurbishing.

So set about fitting the refurbished frame behind the ZT-T's rear bumper. Fiddling rather than difficult job. By the way, it helps enormously to give all the fasteners a good soaking in Penetrating fluid, particularly the two self-tappers securing the bottom of the Bumper to the wheel arch.

This shot shows work in progress preparing a template to cut out the recess in the rear bumper.

The attached images show how the work progressed.
