Rover 45 2.0 TD iXL

A 51 plate car 2.0 diesel is for sale on my local forecourt for £700 with 97,000 miles on it. I am looking for a cheap runaround for my daughter as we're all off on holiday on Monday and her clutch in her Megane (urrgh) has just expired. Any clues on what to look/listen for if i go and have a look? The MOT history is the usual stuff with a few bushes/ball joints over the years and advisories on floor pan corrosion. MOT till April 2017 so I realise for this money it's not going to be pristine although the interior/body actually looks very good. Haven't got a clue with diesels so any advice on what to look for appreciated.
