Water inside my car

Hello All.

I have a MG ZR 1.4. I have noticed that the carpet inside my car is a little wet. I was under the impression for sometime that is was due to the fact i have a coolant leak and it was coming from the blower.

After accessing my boot last night when it was raining i noticed a considerable amount of water inside it and also the rear passenger footwell was very very wet.

I have done some digging online and people has mentioned how poor the ZR's boot hinge is and sometime you can get leaks though there. I have had a look and there is no evidence of this being the problem and also my parcel shelf is bone dry.

I suspect it is getting in via my rear left tail light and the water runs down the grove between the boot and rear panel above the back wheel. My car is also always parked on the left hand side of the road which isn't completely straight, causing the car to tilt to the left making water runoff into this channel.

Does this seem like a likely place to start looking? any suggestions?
