Starting difficulty (specially when warm?)
Starting difficulty (specially when warm?)
Hello, I've had a 75 Auto Diesel Club CDT a few weeks now and it runs perfectly well, is a really nice car, actually. I thought previously that I had a starting problem, but then believed from the little I know that it was the difference between petrol and diesel. That is, a diesel takes a few more turns to start. It started fine this morning in the cold after a few turns, but then when I went to use it again after a gap of about twenty minutes, while it was still warm, it proved very stubborn, although starting eventually. I always try to wait until what I think are called glo-plugs go off before starting, but I see in Google that it could be these, or some clogging in the fuel supply, possibly, or a sensor. The diesel light was on this morning, by the way, so I pretty much filled up. I'd be most grateful for any suggestions for remedy.
Many thanks!
